St. Leonard's Church
ST. LEONARD'S DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
The heart of the scheme has been to double the size of the main meeting room at the back of church, achieved by moving the partition forward by 15 feet. At the same time a lobby has been created in the area immediately inside the glass doors that lead into church. A staircase leads off this lobby to give access to a balcony above the main meeting room and a new first floor meeting room in the north-west corner of the building. Also in this corner of the church, on the ground floor, there is a new kitchen and two toilets (one of which has disabled access, bringing the church into line with disability legislation).

St. Leonard's will now be much more useful to both the congregation and the community of Padiham. We have flourishing Sunday School, Toddler, Rainbow and Brownie groups, meeting in the church rooms, which will benefit from the increased space and improved facilities. We would like to start other groups in the future; in particular we hope to provide more opportunities for senior citizens to meet in the daytime and we have identified the need for a boys' uniformed organisation based at St. Leonard's.

Catering for all events and meetings will now be much easier with the creation of the new kitchen.

As fundraising continues to raise the remainder of the money for the alterations, new events are being planned, details of which are shown on this page and on the calendar.

For further information about the Development Project please contact Rev'd Mark Jones.

The Bishop's Mission Action Plan Prayer

God of new beginnings
we pray that you
will transform your church
as you renew us by your love.
Give us vision for the journey
that we may travel light
and live increasingly by faith.
Inspire, enliven and empower us,
so that along the Way
we may be sustained by the life of Christ
in ourselves,
in one another
and in the world.
Amen.
